I have had animals in my life since I can remember. From being a young girl we had a raggedy black and brown dog called Penny who had an eclectic taste in foods. Her favourites were left over chicken curry or spaghetti bolognese. Waste not want not!

When I was 26, I was working in an office job but still longed to work with animals. So I decide to go and volunteer one evening a week at Shropshire Cat Rescue. I absolutely loved it. There was a retirement village where all the cats that were too old to be rehomed lived but wow, what a home! They lived in little cottages with clocks inside, faux fire places, curtains, window sill flowers and their own beds. If I were an elderly cat that is where I would want to be!

I've always been envious of people who say 'If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.' So here I am, loving what I do.
